Virtual Ring Light for Mac and MacBook

Maximize screen lighting on macOS. Calibrate True Tone, manage Night Shift, and leverage Apple Liquid Retina XDR displays for studio-quality lighting.

Modern Apple silicon MacBooks, iMacs, and Studio Displays feature some of the highest quality panels in consumer hardware, delivering 500 to 1000 nits of sustained brightness with accurate P3 wide color gamuts. This makes Mac hardware uniquely suited to functioning as an effective photographic light source.

Three macOS Display Adjustments

01

Temporarily Disable True Tone

True Tone constantly reads ambient ambient sensor light and shifts display warmth. For predictable lighting color temperature, toggle True Tone off in macOS Control Center > Display.

02

Deactivate Night Shift

Night Shift forces display kelvin temperatures toward 2500K after sunset. Click Control Center > Display and disable Night Shift during critical video conferences.

03

Split View Multitasking

Hold the green full-screen button in Safari or Chrome to enter macOS Split View. Place VirtualRingLight on one side and FaceTime or Zoom on the other.
